Living Wage Campaign at UVa

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was going to free-ride on Jeff's comments on the document written by the supporters of the living-wage campaign.

Well, I have fulfilled my promise. I added some comments to his, and this has resulted in a second draft response which can be found in this post in his blog.

What is missing? Your comments of course!

I got a facebook message that went like this, "Hey man, weren't you at the living wage rally the night before the students got arrested? Heh, when we all had to huddle behind the pillars to avoid the storm..."

I responded that he had me confused and I added a link to our response to the Living Wage Econ document and received this in reply, "We're black and white on this issue. Must've been someone else."

I think he is wrong. We are not black and white on the issue. The issue or so claims the Living Wage Campaign is that some UVa employees are not making very much money and are finding it hard to get by.

I agree that this is probably true. We are black and white on how to resolve the issue. So long as the WAY is the issue we'll miss the fundamentals and never solve the real problem
